The Utah Lions Rugby organization is a 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to the High Performance Development of elite level athletes. Our athletes are dedicated to making rugby their sport of choice with a goal to advance to national, international, and Olympic teams.
With our performance partners RTF Training, O.U.R, and Canterbury, we offer the most advanced rugby coaching and the highest quality strength, conditioning, and speed training in Utah. We combine that with our Neurologic partnership in University of Utah to provide participants with all of the essential tools to become an elite athlete.
The Lions are dedicated development organization designed to develop athletes into student-athletes that University and National programs seek out. Our U18 boys and girls compete in the NAHS7s circuit as one of only 12 academy programs in North America. From there, the top athletes are selected to represent North America as part of the NA Lions If you think you may be eligible for admission to our team, please contact your local coach, or a member of the Lions, for a discussion with the coaching staff regarding our organization and your possibilities.
We will be holding a player ID camp for all interested boys and girls from u14 to u18 to join us in the academy. We will train and prepare you for the NAI7s and possible selection into the NA Lions as part of the North American High School Championship Series. join us at the South Jordan Park behind the SoJo Aquatics center for a bunch of fun and the opportunity to learn a bit by joining the academy.
There is a new series in town for u18 elite boys and girls plus a u16 elite bracket. This is a huge opportunity to compete against top teams like Atlantis, USA South, EIRA, Upright Rugby and 7 other major Canadian, US, and Caribbean academies. The Lions are part of the series as a founding member and USAR plus collegiate coaches are looking hard. The series will take you around the USA and Canada chasing the title of top HS 7s in in all of North America! We will be announcing the tryouts shortly. Make sure you fill out the expression of interest to keep abreast of everything.
The Lions will be participating in the series with stops at the Tropical 7s, Great North 7s in Toronto, and NAI7s in Utah in addition to other domestic and international tours.
