Welcome to the Utah Lions Rugby Academy

The Utah Lions Rugby organization is a 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to the High Performance Development of elite level athletes. Our athletes are dedicated to making rugby their sport of choice with a goal to advance to national, international, and Olympic teams.

With our performance sponsors in Serevi Rugby and SportsMed Utah, we offer the most advanced rugby coaching and the highest quality strength, conditioning, and speed training in Utah. We combine that with our recovery partnership in Young Living Essential Oils to provide participants with all of the essential tools to become an elite athlete.

The Lions are an invitation only team. If you think you may be eligible for admission to our team, please contact your local coach, or a member of the Lions, for a discussion with the coaching staff regarding our organization and your possibilities.

Utah Rugby Academy First US Rugby Team to United World Games

The Utah Rugby Academy has become the first US rugby team to be invited to the United World Games in Klagenfurt Austria in June of 2016.  Mgr. Franziskus Bertl came out to Utah to formally extend the invitation to the Academy and to answer any questions the players and parents may have about the tournament. Set on the Austrian-Italian border, the UWG saw 7000 athletes competing in 10 different sports making it larger than the Jr. Olympics.  The Academy can expect to see national and academy teams from England, France, South Africa, New Zealand, Italy, and hosts of other European nations.  This is a phenomenal opportunity for these players to pursue a gold medal at these games!
